   Hi Pauline!
   My name is Catarina, I am the same age as you and I started surfing last summer.
   It is amazing to see how people our age and younger are already so good. As someone who is struggling on many fronts with progression, I would like to know what your struggles were and how it is you overcame them. Did you also get overwhelmed by the speed at first?
   I’m sorry I didn’t write in French. It would have been useless.

     Bonjour Catarina !

     Thank you for your message ! Hope you are enjoying surfing as much as I do !
     Well yes the first time I surfed I was really overwhelmed by the speed I got on the wave ! And I still get overwhelmed by the speed I can get now…
     So you said you’re struggling on many fronts ? What fronts exactly ?
     Don’t worry I think we all felt the same way when we started surfing ! I remember after I learned how to take off properly and follow a direction, the biggest struggle for me was to catch waves… (Don’t kow if it is your case ???) I remember spending hours in the water and catching only 2 or 3 waves… It was really frustrating but I kept going because I just loved the feeling ! I found out I just had to give a go at every wave I could even if I was scared to fall… that’s how you learn to read the ocean and to know what the wave is going to do… I think perseverance is the key !
     So this is an example of my struggles but there were so much more… and I still have struggles now… the thing is there is always ways to improve yourself. The more you improve and the better the sensations are !
     So you’re definitly looking for progression but never forget to keep it fun ! Like I said it can be frustrating because it is such an unpredictable sport… If you have some good surfers around you that you can look up to and who can give you some advice it can be very helpful too.

     Sorry I feel like I am talking a lot haha… don’t hesitate if you have some more specific questions. Hope this helped !

   Bonjour Pauline !

   Voila je me présente je m’appele Jon Teva, je suis un tahitien qui habite au Pays Basque plus précisement à Ustaritz (je sais pas si tu connais). J’aime beaucoup regarder des vidéos de surf et je peux te dire que tu es une excellente surfeuse! je regarde tes résultats soit sur le net ou quelques fois sur le journal et je trouve que tu es vraiment très forte. Je ne sais pas si tu as eu l’occasion de surfer à Teahupoo la vague mythique de Tahiti, moi j’en ai eu l’occasion, je fais du body board et c’est vraiment excellent..
   Pour moi je trouve trop bien de voyager beaucoup et de voir de nouvelles cultures, religions dans le monde. Je pense aussi que tu mérite d’etre parmis les meilleures surfeuse du circuit.
   Je te souhaite une bonne continuation et bonne chance pour le reste de championnat . Bisous.

   boujours Pauline,

   ja m’appelle maïna, j’habite en Bretagne plus presisement a Guidel je ne sais pas si tu connais.
   Je surf sur quelque spots comme la torche,le petit minou, quiberon…
   Tu est ma surfeuse preferé, , j’ai regarder plusieurs photo de la compet a Biarritz, je trouve que tu surf trop bien et plusieurs surfeuses aussi comme Carissa Moore, Staphanie Gilmore, Lee-Ann Curren, Lisa Anderson…
   Je pratique beaucoup de surf car c ma passion mais aussi le bodyboard et un peu le skim
